Craig and I celebrated our anniversary and brought in the new year with my mom and Maceo. Unfortunately, the better part of the Christmas holiday was spent suffering with and recovering from a range of ailments. Craig and I were struck with a horrendous flu which annihilated the entire Christmas weekend - and then my mom arrived to spend 10 days with us with a world-class cold that lingered for the entire trip. Despite our collective ailments, we managed to rally for the new year (although 2010 did slip into 2011 with our eyes closed). Craig made a delicious dinner that would have rivaled any fancy restaurant: seared tuna with a green olive tapenade, tea smoked baby back ribs, white beans with lobster meat and bacon, and scallops with a spiced lemon spinach. We opened a Pinot Gris lovingly imported from Germany and enjoyed a lovely meal. Eat your heart out.
